Finding the Presence of Who We Truly Are 11/12/2009
![]() By whatever means inner stillness is discovered (through meditation, following the breath with attention, or feeling the presence of our hearts), it is here that we experience who we truly are. It is the simple beauty of our creation beyond the concepts of bodily form. Though, it is also nothing special or extraordinary. It is the presence of this mysterious moment that contains everything. This unchanging presence is not our thoughts, who we think we are, what we do, or aspire to do. All of these things are arising out of this presence. It is to discover what is just below the surface of our busy lives. It is to tune into the simple moment of being that we are all experiencing. It is so easy to find that it often goes unnoticed. We seek past what is here all the time. Stopping our efforts and resting in what is happening now reveals this very presence as being ourselves. In fact, it is our very own awareness that we seek. When we attune to this space, away from the thoughts that distract us, we are free to just be. This is resting in the inner stillness of presence. This unchanging presence is who we truly are.
